| So, I'm going to be working on my Tsuna cosplay probably until October. I thought I'd post some progression pics so I can show you guys all the progress I make with it. Today, I took the first step and went out and bought my wig. I saw Akiahara's pic of her Gokudera wig and got jealous. Lucky for me there's a really awesome wig store like 10 minutes from my house. That's where I got my Konan wig and today, i got my Tsuna wig from there. So far it looks nothing like Tsuna's hair except for the color. But once I cut it and start styling it I think you'll be able to tell whose hair it is. Its really long, but I wanted to give myself plenty of hair to work with. I'm so excited. I'm probably going to start cutting it tonight. We'll see. Its such a beautiful wig I almost hate to cut it. First thing I want to do are Tsuna's bangs. | |

| Hehe. It is pretty thick. That's one of the main things I was looking for, something that could be style within an inch of its life and now show the lacing underneath the hair.
Yeah, I'm going to be really sad cutting it up, since its so damn beautiful. But its going to look really good once I finish it.
If I do ship it to you, which I probably will, I'll probably ship it like a week or so in advance to make sure that it actually gets there. That way if something goes wrong and it gets lost in the mail or whatever, then I have time to get a new one.
Glad you like it! I will post my progress pics. I'm so excited that I got a wig this awesome and I didn't even have to order it.

| Okay. I made my first cut. I cut some hair for the bangs. This is what I want the wig to end up looking like. It was so hard to cut this hair. Its soo pretty. But I'm really excited about how its going to turn out. I bought my hair glue and all that so tomorrow or sometime this weekend I start working on the spiking. I also got some bandage tape stuff for my binding. That's going to be interesting. Next weekend is the big weekend since I'll be trying to make the mittens and gloves for my costume. | |

| if you're gonna ship it, you need to do it at least two weeks in advance. it could take a week to get here.
eeeeee, i'm so excited for you. i'm excited to style my wig, too!

| 2 weeks in advance I can do that. That's why I really want to get it styled as early as possible. Same with the gloves and mittens. I really want them done like way way in advance. | |

| what i'd do... honestly... whenever you're completely happy with the wig, ship it. if you have to go get another wig, it's gonna take time to style it and everything. so, if you have to ship it in september, do it. just ship it all wonderfully packed.
then i can take pics to see what sort of damage was done to the styling and adjust it for you if you want.... so it keeps it's shape while it's sitting here. what i'll probably do is keep it in a sealed box to keep kitty hair and dust off of it. \o/

| Okay. So, I started working on my wig some more today. I did a cut of the wig which was hard since its so pretty but I think it turned out well: Then I did a second cut of the bangs so they wouldn't be covering my eyes: Then I styled the bangs a bit. I thought I'd ruined the wig for a minute when I started doing this. But I think it turned out okay: This weekend or maybe earlier I'm going to start working on the front and the spiking of the wig. The pic that I'm using for reference is this one: So far its not looking as much like the pic as I want. But I figure so long as its a brown spikey wig, when you put it together with my costume itself people will know who I am. Lol. And if I ruin it, well I'm already looking for replacement wigs on ebay | |

| I think I'm going to try and get that Sora wig since its already spiky and it'll be easier to style than this one. I'm so sad this one isn't going to work out though since its the perfect color and so pretty. But oh well, live and learn I guess. I don't know when I'm going to be able to buy it though. | |

| So, even though I've already started looking at replacement wigs, I decided yesterday and today to go ahead and work on the wig I have. I figure the least I can do is work on my spiking technique so that if I do have to get a new wig at least I'll know how to style it. The spiking is so fucking fun. The problem with this wig is that its too thin so you can see the lacing. I'm hoping that with a wig cap + my dark hair underneath it'll make it so this one is still wearable. But we'll see. Anyways I'm about halfway done styling the wig. I have a friend visiting so I havent' been to work in days and I had my whole weekend off. So now that I'm rested I'm using my free time to style the wig. I think its actually turning out pretty good. Except of course with the lacing showing. Anyways here are some pics if my progress so far. As you can kind of see, its looking not too bad. But you can see the lacing. We'll see what happens once I finish styling it. I'll probably end up redoing some of the spikes since I'm getting a better idea of how to do them now. | |

| Not yet. I'm hoping to finish spiking it today or sometime this week since I suddenly have all of this free time. I'm hoping it'll look at least halfway decent. But I'm pretty sure I'll have to buy a different wig. Still it was fun learning how to do the spiking. | |

| if you get a new wig, are you gonna do those crazy spikes, or are you going to let it be more natural? more sculpted... i know you've seen her tsuna. these are a little more natural... i'm almost positive that i saw a wig for 30 dollars from professionalonly on ebay and would spike and was the right color.... almost positive... | |

| Well I finished my wig and I tried it on. My brother said you couldn't really see how the lacing was all visible in the back. I tried to see it but its surprisingly hard to see AROUND spikes. Lol.
Anyways, if I keep this wig I'd probably end up restyling it since the spikes look almost too big with the wig on my head. I might try and go for a more natural spiking look since I think it would look better like that with this wig.
I'll probably restyle it next week and see. But I'm still probably going to buy a new wig, this one is just too damn thin. We'll see I guess. I mean I love spiking and I love some of the spikes that I did one this one. But I don't know if it suits me. I might have to try a different style. I'm also probably going to buy my Tsubaki wig next week.
We'll see. *sigh* | |

| tsubaki, ftw.
you might try a new wig that's more meant to spike. i think the wefts are sewn on differently, and it'll be easier to work them up anyhow.
but i still want pics of this wig!

| Lol. I'll take some pic of it on my head so you can see how it looks so far I only have one that really shows what it looks like on my head. I'll take some more. I think a better wig would be better. But I do want to restyle this one just to see if it'll help with how much lacing you can see.

| Okay. Took a couple pics of me in the wig. Let me know what you think. You can see the back of it in the mirror in this one: From the front: Geez I look so damn mean when I don't smile More cheerful More from the back: So I like some parts of it but I'm probably going to re-style the back some and see if I can hide the lacing better. But I love the spikes in the front. | |

| yeah, you can see the netting in the back. FTMFL!
but it actually came out better than i thought it would based on the progress pics. i do think it's too long, though. mostly on the sides and that.
i have a feeling that you'd have to experiment a bit to get it right. i really want to get my fingers on a wig like that.
of course, the only way to solve the netting problem is to sew in more wefts. OOOOORR... do some careful ratting at the base of the wig, and use less glue on the spikes, and really only get the glue at the tip so it holds it together.

| Yeah I'm going to play with it a bit. I planed on cutting it a bit more. I want the spikes to lay down flatter in the back. I figure that way it'll cover the netting better. With the wig actually on my head though it really doesn't look too bad. | |
