hibari's wig of DOOM. DOOM!

yep, i'm gonna restyle. but i thought i'd take pics of failsauce.

see, all the references of TYL hibari... he has totally spiky hair. not crazy like tsuna, but it's just as spiky as yamamoto's, but longer.

so i tried to do that sort of deal, though not a lot of cosplayers seem to do his hair like that. but it's NOT NOT NOT flat.

i love this wig. it fits great (on my fat head) and it's pretty thick, but it's also not bone straight. i need a black wig cap, though. you can only see it with the crazy bright flash when angling up. i don't see it at all in person.

anyway, i took a bunch of silly pics, so here they are.

i almost think that i just need to spike out the sides and back more... if i can get them to spike... because his hair really does stand up like that.

The front actually looks damn near perfect. But the back seems to curl a bit too much. maybe if you can make the hair straighter? and kind of standing out more?

yeah, i just spend like two fucking hours with a hair dryer and a curling iron trying to get it to straighten out, or at least flip the other way.

my flat iron is fucking awesome, but its awesome for REAL hair. i put it on its lowest setting and tested one tiny bit of hair, and it was like ... SIZZLE.

WHOOPS!

BUT! my curling iron works, it's just a pain in the ass, because, well, it's a CURLING iron, not a flat iron.

i'm taking progress pics this time. so... we'll see how it goes. when i get more cigarettes, i'll upload them.

alright, progress of the hibari wig.

i dunked it in hot water and let it dry, but because of the length, that method doesn't really work for straightening.



completely unstyled.








what i decided to do was pin it to the head and hang it upside down. then i took a blow dryer to it and combed it upside down, until most everything flipped the opposite direction.

THEN i flipped it back over and took a curling iron on low heat to it. i had to curl almost every single weft. SRSLYWTF, HIBARI.








then it was time for more pomade, glue, and hairspray. i used got2b defiant pomade, freeze spray, and styling glue.











i technically could have gone without the product, but i have a feeling all that curling would eventually relax back into its original shape. i'm a fan of product. though it means that i have to transport my wigs (except maybe stein) on heads. i don't want to have to put a bunch of product in them again at a con.

Yeah, I'm just crazy lazy this week. lol. I don't feel like doing anything. Not even working on my cosplay. But I'll probably be ready to do it next week.


Woot! Your Hibari wig looks awesome. It definitely looks like his hair now! See now I feel a bit motivated. Guess I'll try and work on my wig tomorrow.

i have to get a black wig cap, though. at the right angle, you can see it, but i look fat(ter) at that angle, so... i'll avoid pics like that anyway.

the top could probably be spiked a bit more, but it makes the wig... really... tall. i guess that's actually accurate, but it looks too girly to me in real life.

i hope people don't think my wig sucks. it's so different from nearly all the hibari cosplayers i've seen.

btw, i'm bringing this to yaoi con, instead of sistema CAI gokudera. though i'm still bringing young gokudera.

i told myself this was the last wig for a while, though, because i've bought three since june. so now i have gokudera for this weekend, gokudera and hibari for sac anime, and stein, gokudera, and hibari for yaoi con.

sooooo... unless i'm going to change halfway through the day, that pretty much takes up all my con time for the rest of the year.

I think I will get Mukuro's outfit. I'm thinking of getting some thick soled shoes for him though and hiding them with my pants. Lol. Can't have a short Mukuro.
